Programme Objectives

  • Provides specialized study in tourism and related disciplines

  • Assists students to obtain relevant professional credentials and improves students' communication, interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Develops attitudes and values as well as acquires knowledge and skills which are vital for work in the tourism industry

Programme Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, students will be able to:​
  • demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills required in the hotel industry so as to enhance their employability;
  • develop independent thinking and learning skills which enable them to further their studies;
  • ​improve their overall communication, interpersonal and customer service skills; and
  • develop a sense of responsibility, professional attitude and ethics, and the value of interpersonal relationship.

「2+1」Articulation Pathway

Earn a UK Degree in 3 years
 
Students who are admitted to Business or Tourism related programmes offered by CCLU/LIFE will be given a “conditional offer” from the University of Stirling. Upon graduation#, students can articulate to the 1-year Top-up Degree programmes offered by University of Stirling in collaboration with LIFE, including

The top-up degree programmes are exempted courses governed by the Non-local Higher and Professional Education (Regulation) Ordinance, Government of HKSAR. It is a matter of discretion for individual employers to recognize any qualification to which this course may lead.

Articulation Prospects

Graduates of this programme are eligible to apply for admission to the full-time top-up degree programmes offered at the Lingnan University campus by LIFE in collaboration with overseas universities:

  • Travel Consultant, Ticketing Officer, Reservations Officer, Visa Handling Agent, Tour Guide, Tour Escort, Airport Service Officer, Cruise Reservations Agent, Customer Services Representative, Theme Park Services Officer/Assistant, etc.

Professional Recognition

  • Students are qualified to be Tour Escort after passing the Tour Escort Training Course arranged by the Tourism Industry Council of Hong Kong (TIC)
