1. About the Graduation Ceremony (New Updates)

Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, 3 December 2021 at the Chan Tak Tai Auditorium at Lingnan University. The congregation will be conducted as follows:
 
Date: 3 December 2021 (Friday)
Time: 14:30 - 16:30
(Graduands should arrive the venue at 13:00 for registration and rehearsal.)

- Conferment of Associate Degrees
- Conferment of Higher Diplomas
- Conferment of Diploma
- Conferment of Diploma Yi Jin
- Presentation of Scholarships
- Speech by Graduate Representatives

2. Academic Dress

The rental of academic dress is provided by the University’s authorised service provider namely “Take Your Gown Limited (TYG)”.

Procedures of Registration
 
  1. Register with TYG for dress reservation via the following link https://www.tyg.hk/lnulife
  2. Complete the e-registration and receive the confirmation email.
  3. Graduand shall present the confirmation email from TYG (either in printed copy or screen cap by mobile) to the staff at TYG’s outlet for verification and collection.  TYG will NOT entertain the pickup request if the graduand failed to present the proof. TYG will then provide the dress to the graduand.

Return Procedures
The outlets will be opened for dress return according to the above schedules.  Graduand shall return the dress to TYG’s outlet in person.  Deposit will be forfeited for late return beyond 31 January 2022.  For details, please refer to TYG’s information in the e-registration.

Change of Registration Information
Graduand can re-login TYG’s system to change the submitted information.

Change of Dress
If graduand would like to change the dress collected, please contact TYG at 9309 1337 or 9531 5758.

Extra Rental Offer
Graduand can enjoy extra rental offer upon completion of Graduation Survey. Graduand shall present confirmation email (either in printed copy or screen cap by mobile) to the staff at TYG’s outlet to enjoy the offer.

(ii) Tassel on the cap will be provided to you as a gift

 

3. Graduation Survey and Admission Ticket (New Updates)

Graduands are cordially invited to attend the Graduation Ceremony.  In keeping with the social distancing measures under the pandemic, only graduands are invited to the ceremony.  A recorded clip of the ceremony will be captured to let you share this joyous occasion with your family and friends after the ceremony.

Graduands who wish to attend the Graduation Ceremony are required to register by filing-in the Graduate Survey (Click Here) by 12 November 2021 (Friday). Upon successful registration, electronic ticket will be sent to you via your provided email by late-November. Late registration will NOT be entertained. ALL graduands are required to complete the Graduate Survey. A screen capture of the completion of the survey should be shown to the staff when collecting your Graduation Certificate.

For graduands who have submitted the survey, you DO NOT need to fill in the survey again. If you would like to update your RSVP response to the Ceremony due to the change of event time, please notify us via email at life@ln.edu.hk by 12 November 2021 (Friday). If no response is received by the stipulated date, we shall assume there is no change for your participation option for the Graduation Ceremony.

4. Graduation Certificate (New Updates)

You may collect your Graduation Certificate at Lau Chung Him (LCH) Building on Graduation Day according to the following schedule:
 
Date: 3 December 2021
Time: End of graduation ceremony – 17:30
Venue:
  • LCH 101 (for AD and HD programmes)
  • LCH 103 (for DYJ and DIP programmes)

If you are unable to collect the Certificate in person, you may collect it at Registry Office during office hours after 3 December 2021.

You may authorise a representative to collect the Graduation Certificate on your behalf by submitting a signed and completed authorisation letter to LIFE, presenting your HKID Card copy, confirmation of completion of Graduate Survey and your representative’s HKID Card. Please note that the uncollected Graduation Certificates shall be retained by LIFE for one calendar year. The uncollected certificates will be shredded after 2 December 2022.

Student Transcript
A copy of the student transcript is attached in the graduation package.


 

5. Outstanding Items

If you still have unpaid accounts or unreturned materials on loan due to the University and/or the Institute, or have not met any other obligations due to the University and/or the Institute, you should settle them immediately; otherwise the Institute may withhold the conferment of your academic award.

6. Use of Personal Data

  • Names of graduates will be published in the Programme Booklets. Graduates’ degree classification will not be shown unless they are awarded a Distinction.
  • At the Graduation Ceremony, award titles will be announced and names of graduates will be called. Degree classification will not be announced unless the graduate has received a Distinction.
  • Videos of the ceremonies will be produced for LIFE retention.
  • Graduates should contact the Registry to discuss any issues arising in relation to the use of personal information.
 

7. Contingency and Precautionary Measures

The University is implementing a series of contingency and precautionary measures, based on the recommendations of the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) to ensure the well-being of graduates, guests, University community and all involved in the administration of the graduation ceremony. All graduates to pay attention to the following important points when attending the Graduation Ceremony:

Before the Event
You should not attend the event if:
  • you have any symptoms of COVID-19, such as having a fever (body temperature at 38°C or above), symptoms of acute respiratory tract infection (e.g. cough or shortness of breath) or sudden loss of sense of taste or smell, etc.;
  • you, or any of your home-mates, are undergoing mandatory quarantine; or
  • you, or any of your home-mates, are requested by the CHP to take the COVID-19 test and still awaiting the test results.
If you are currently outside Hong Kong and wish to come back to attend the event, you are advised to observe the current immigration measures for entry to Hong Kong, especially specific conditions imposed on inbound travellers by the HKSAR Government. Accessing Campus
You should prepare and wear your own mask when entering the campus.
You will have your body temperature checked at the University’s main entrance.

Before the Graduation Ceremony
You should maintain social distance, including when you are queueing for entering the venues.
Before entering the venues, you must perform hand hygiene by using your own alcohol sanitiser-gel or the sanitiser provided at the entrance of the venues.

During the Graduation Ceremony
ALL graduands are assigned seats in the Auditorium in which the Graduation Ceremony is held.
You should not remove your mask during the Graduation Ceremony.

After the Graduation Ceremony
You should leave the venues according to instructions in order to avoid crowding at the exits.
The University and LIFE will monitor the COVID-19 situation and adopt appropriate alternative arrangements if necessary.
