Inauguration and Orientation 2016-17
The Community College at Lingnan University (CCLU) and Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE) Inauguration Ceremony & Orientation was held successfully on 26 August 2016 at Chan Tak Tai Auditorium, Lingnan University, to welcome all new students of CCLU and LIFE.
Officiated by Professor Joshua Mok, Acting President of Lingnan University, Mr. Simon Ip, JP, Chairman of Board of Governors of CCLU & LIFE, and Professor Wei Xiangdong, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Lingnan University and Deputy Chairman of Board of Governors of CCLU and LIFE, the Inauguration was kicked off with the National and Lingnan University Anthems. Professor Joshua Mok welcomed all freshmen to the Lingnan University and highlighted the new direction of CCLU and LIFE. Mr. Simon Ip, JP encouraged students to go beyond their own. Last but not least, Dr. Raymond Ng introduced the senior management and academic staff to all new students.
At the orientation session after the ceremony, our alumnus Chan Chun-nam shared his learning experience from Diploma Yi Jin to Bachelor and Master of Philosophy at Lingnan University, and now he will further his study for a PhD in Philosophy at Manchester University with scholarship. He hoped that all freshmen could seize the opportunities at Lingnan and become an excellent Lingnanian.
After the orientation session, a series of activities including introduction of teaching resources, student activities and counseling service and programme introduction sessions were arranged for all freshmen to prepare them for a new journey at CCLU & LIFE.
