“Road to Success” Youth Employment Programme

Supported by J. P. Morgan Chase Foundation, the Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association has launched“Road to Success”Youth Employment Programme for youngsters who will complete or completed a sub-degree programme, and aged between 18 and 25, in the hope of helping more youngsters to understand their strengths and get ready for employment.
 
The officiating ceremony of the programme was held on 14 September 2016.  60 students of The Community College of Lingnan University (CCLU) and Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE) participated in this programme which is the majority amongst other institutions.  Some of them are now having pre-employment training and workplace attachment training in different corporates and organizations.  Urban Group, Worldwide Flight Services and Regal Hotels International are some of the corporate partners of the programme.  Bankers from J. P. Morgan Chase Bank will be the mentors of students in one-on-one or one-on-two way to share their experience.
 
The programme consists of three stages.  The first stage lasts for six months and involves career guidance and self-understanding.  The second stage is a 3-month pre-employment training and 6-month workplace attachment training.  The final stage is a 5-month career planning and management period, in which social workers will provide necessary advices and job referral services.
