2019 Joint-Universities Debate Competition
Lingnan University Chinese Debate Team crowned championship in the 2019 Joint-Universities Debate Competition co-organized by the Radio & Television Hong Kong (RTHK) and The Hong Kong Federation of Students (HKFS). Team members include Tan Tsz Wai, year 2 student of Associate of Arts (Chinese).
This competition consists of 10 participating teams from various local tertiary institutions & universities. Lingnan University played against The University of Hong Kong in the semi-final match and won 3:2. LU has worked very hard to reach the final on 27 April 2019! The debate topic of the Final Match was “The advantages outweigh the disadvantages in the MeToo movement in promoting social justice”. The proposition side was The Education University of Hong Kong and the opposition side was Lingnan University Chinese Debate Team. Lingnan University Chinese Debate Team won 4:1 and became the champion.
