Training students to be all-round fitness training professionals
Offering a minimum of 200-hour summer practicum in kindergartens, elderly centres, rehabilitation centres and fitness clubs
Training with the well-equipped sports facilities, e.g. gym, athletic field, football field, basketball courts, swimming pool, etc. at Lingnan University campus
Provides all-rounded training in fitness and health care
Covers multi-dimensional knowledge and skills, such as basic health care and fitness, resistance training practice, sports injuries prevention, personal training prescription, weight management and nutrition
Provides sport management related course to strengthen students’ management sense
Upon completion, students will be able to:
explain and apply the principles and concept in health, wellness, physical fitness, exercise science and sport management knowledge in fitness training;
demonstrate knowledge and skills to design and lead exercise with various devices and equipment for normal adults in fitness room settings;
demonstrate knowledge and skills to prescribe and lead exercise for various target populations;
demonstrate proficiency in oral and written language competence in both English and Chinese for future studies or work; and
apply problem-solving, IT and critical thinking skills for handling further studies or career pursuit.

The programme will provide practicum opportunity to student. All students will complete a minimum of 200 hours of fieldwork, they will be assigned to work in university, kindergartens, elderly centre, gym centre, fitness club or other related setting for vocational training and practice. Students will apply the learnt knowledge, skills and techniques in a work-based environment.
