Programme Objectives

  • Provides specialised study in hotel operations and related disciplines

Programme Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, students will be able to:​
  • demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills required in the hotel industry;
  • demonstrate a sense of responsibility, professional attitude and ethics with reference to the industry standard;
  • ​apply relevant theories and skills to solve the operational issues and customer services problems at workplace;
  • demonstrate proficiency in oral and written language competence in both English and Chinese for future studies or work; and
  • apply problem-solving, IT and critical thinking skills for handling further studies or career pursuit.

Internship Graduation Cocktail at Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin

A Graduation Cocktail for our Year 1 students of Higher Diploma in Hospitality (Hotel Operations) was held successfully on 31 August 2017 to celebrate the completion of their Internship Programme at Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin. 
 
Dr. Raymond Ng, Director of Lingnan Institute of Further Education, and Mr. Wilson Lee, General Manager of Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin, were invited to deliver the opening remarks.  They appreciated the efforts of our students in this Internship Programme and encouraged them to develop themselves so as to contribute to hospitality industry.
 
Mr. Wilson Lee presented the Certificate of Completion to each student.  All of the guests and students enjoyed the delicious buffet which was prepared by Mr. Hongman Cheung, the Executive Chef of Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin.

  • 升讀香港理工大學專業進修學院款待業管理(榮譽)文學士一年級
這個課程讓我們可以了解各種關於酒店行業的知識,從基本的酒店業概況,再由淺入深到不同的部門運作,例如餐飲部、房務部和前台部,也會學習如何處理與顧客的關係等。在學習課本上的內容以外,我們亦有機會親身體驗收拾酒店的床鋪和擺放餐桌位置,做到理論結合實踐。除此之外,最令我印象深刻的必定是暑假期間到沙田凱悅酒店進行實習。在餐飲部的咖啡廳實習的兩個半月真的令我大開眼界,不但可以見識到真正酒店的運作模式,也能學習到不同的餐飲服務知識,如製作飲品和出餐等等。雖然整個過程很辛苦,但酒店的員工非常願意教導和幫助我們這些實習生,令我們盡快適應新環境。回想一切,這真是一個十分寶貴的機會,令我更了解這個行業,也成為了自己繼續升學的契機,甚至為未來投身這個行業做好準備。

在修讀這個課程之前,我曾以為這個學科比較簡單,慢慢地通過課程我才發現原來在酒店工作除了需要專業的知識外,還要有熱誠,明白了服務是要從心出發,靈活變通。這個學科讓我更認識和深入了解酒店的各個部門及其運作模式。非常感謝老師協助找到酒店實習的機會,慶幸我能在一間五星級酒店實習。在兩個多月的實習中,我學習了很多書本上學不到的酒店運作,體驗到知識與實踐兼備的重要,令我的學習更添精彩。兩年時光匆匆,非常感謝一路以來教導我的一班充滿熱誠的老師們和一起努力的這班可愛的同學們。
