Programme Learning Outcomes

Upon completion, students will be able to:​
  • effectively communicate in English and Chinese for academic and general purposes;
  • analyze their own strengths and weaknesses and apply the acquired knowledge and techniques for career and life planning;
  • demonstrate fundamental quantitative skills to solve daily problems;
  • explain foundation concepts in various disciplines including social sciences, business studies, and humanities to be ready for further studies; and
  • demonstrate essential skills that are required for taking up entry positions at work.

Apart from Chinese courses and courses which require students to have working knowledge of Chinese, all courses are normally taught in English.
 

Articulation Prospects

Graduates are eligible to apply for admission to Associate Degree programmes or Higher Diploma programmes offered by LIFE.

After studying the 1-year Diploma programme at LIFE, I gained a lot. The teachers here are amiable. Whenever we encountered difficulties, the teachers were ready to help out. By the way, the programme provides wellrounded fundamental concepts across disciplines and we have been well-equipped with essential skills for further study. Finally, this programme gave me an opportunity to get articulated to a Higher Diploma programme, hence getting my dream fulfilled.

還記得文憑試放榜時，我的成績不太理想，但是我仍然很希望能夠繼續升學，因為基礎文憑可以幫助我日後銜接高級文憑課程，因此我選擇LIFE的基礎文憑作為我升學的起點。當時，其實我很怕自己不能適應大專的生活，因為始終大專跟中學的節奏和模式都不同。雖然大專比較自由，但評核模式跟以往不同，而且幾乎每一科都需要做小組報告。剛開始時很怕應付不來，但幸好有老師熱心教導和幫助，他們亦融入當中，我會把他們視為朋友多於視為老師。在這裡認識了很多新的朋友，我們有著相同的目標，可以一起努力，為日後升學付出和準備。

很開心可以入讀嶺南大學持續進修學院的文憑課程。開始時我對前路感到迷茫，並不明白課程對以後升學有甚麼幫助。幸好在這裡認識到一班志同道合的同學和好的老師，老師們會耐心解答，並提供升學意見。直到課程完結時，不知不覺間已經打好了基礎，也幸運地升讀自己喜歡的科目和學校。除此之外，我還加入了學校的舞蹈學會，一班人經歷排練和表演，為這一年的大專生活留下了美好的回憶。
