Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE) held the “LIFE Welcome Day 2023” on 17 August 2023. More than 150 freshmen of Associate Degree, Higher Diploma, Diploma and Diploma of Applied Education Programmes came together and participated in the event.
 
Students were divided into 10 groups with senior students as leaders. They experienced a series of activities designed and held by LIFE Student Development Office, including ice-breaking games, group competitions and campus orienteering. Students got to know each other, and got more familiar with the campus and tertiary education environment. They were more prepared to the brand new life and were less anxious adapting to it.
 
At the end of the event, LIFE invited 4 alumni to have a sharing session. They shared about their studying experience in LIFE, and encouraged students to pay effort for their own goal studying in LIFE. They emphasized the adequate support of LIFE lecturers, and encouraged students to seek advice on both academic and non-academic issues. Students grasped the opportunity to ask alumni more. The communication was congruent and fruitful.
 
More orientation activities were to be held in August so as to prepare freshmen better before the semester starts.
