The Correctional Services Department (CSD) held an open day at the Staff Training Institute (STI) in Stanley to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the STI on 29 September 2018.  LIFE students were invited to participate in the event and learned about the history and development of the STI.
 
Students were given a demonstration of the professional training STI provided and enjoyed performances by the Dog Unit.  A foot drill performance was also presented by members of the CSD.  Taking part in a physical fitness test could help students to gain an understanding of the entry requirements for Correctional Services staff.
