Programme Objectives

Provides a solid foundation in philosophical traditions, arguments and problems that will enable students to pursue further studies in philosophy in Hong Kong or overseas

Enables students to think philosophically about problems that they will meet in their daily and professional lives

Develops analytical and critical abilities for solving problems of all types with creativity and flexibility
Programme Learning Outcomes
Upon completion, students will be able to:
- demonstrate an understanding of both Western and Eastern Philosophy;
- deal with fundamental questions in life through a philosophical perspective;
- identify both assumptions and conceptual connections of the philosophical theories;
- demonstrate proficiency in the use of English and Chinese languages and communicate effectively for further studies or work;
- apply creative problem-solving, IT applications, and critical thinking skills for handling further studies or career pursuits; and
- demonstrate an understanding of cross-disciplinary knowledge and possible cross-disciplinary application
